Double Mystery Quilt!
New Year's Day 2022 Mystery Quilt Along!
This class is open to ALL machine quilters!
The Double Mystery Quilt is a very interesting class!!!
In this class, we start with literally starting with a "blank canvas"
of solid fabric and we are going to be doing some fairly simple
quilting and other techniques to make an AH.MAZE.ING
raw edge appliqued quilt!
And, ALL the applique is done FREE HAND on a quiting machine !!!
This is called the Double Mystery Quilt because, before the class started, you didn't know what the finished quilt will look like and you didn't know what kind of quilting we will be doing!
Now that the class is over, the finished quilt is a close view of a woodland scene. The trees and the grassy hill is all stitched in place. Now YOU can embellish this any way you want!

Start with a "fractured" whole cloth quilt
Add some basic background stitching
Start building a tree with raw edge applique
Add a grassy hill, leaves and another tree
Add some embellishment. I added a Cardinal in honor of my late Mother
Or, as Donna has done, add squirrels, diffent leaves and anything else you would like!
As you can see, with some simple quilting techniques, you can make your own art quilt! And NO, you don't have to be an "artist" to do this type of work.
